New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC)

The North American Megadam Resistance Alliance (NAMRA) is currently working to fight the New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) transmission corridor in Maine (also known as the CMP Corridor). As planned, this corridor would bring hydropower from Canada (Hydro-Quebec) to Massachusetts at an estimated cost of $1.8 billion to help the state meet their “clean energy” goals. This line would cut through the State of Maine to deliver this power, disrupting ecosystems such as forests, ponds, lakes, streams, and rivers while bringing no real benefits to those living in Maine. This corridor will serve as a financial pipeline for continued megadam destruction in Canada.
